WELL CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION PROJECTS
Bromley District Water Providers, LLC – Bell Mountain
Water wells Bell Mountain Da-1, Den-1, and A-1 were drilled and completed during the period of March 24, 2003 through July 18, 2003 for the purpose of supplying ground water to Bromley District Water Providers, LLC (“Bromley”) for municipal, irrigation, or augmentation purposes. The wells were drilled into the Dawson, Denver, and Arapahoe aquifers in the Denver Basin near the town of Castle Rock.
As part of this project, Martin and Wood personnel were involved in observing every phase of the well construction to confirm that the wells were constructed per the design specifications of each well and to address any issues or problems that arose during drilling. Martin and Wood personnel observed the drilling of each well, taking note of such things as drilling rate, drilling fluid viscosity, and deviation surveys, as well as logging samples at specified depth intervals. Martin and Wood personnel inspected the well completion materials before they were installed, including the well screen, casing, and gravel pack, to confirm that they met the design specifications. After each well was drilled, Martin and Wood personnel observed the geophysical logging of each well and used the geophysical logs, along with the samples, to develop the final design of each well. Martin and Wood personnel then observed and documented every phase of well completion including setting the casing and screen, gravel packing, and cementing.
Martin and Wood personnel were also present during the development phase of each well, which included bailing, jetting, airlifting, and surge pumping, to confirm that the well was developed properly and fully. Finally, Martin and Wood personnel were present for aquifer pump testing of each well and a final video logging of each well which provided a record of the well conditions at the time of well completion.
