Surface Water Quality
Sampling and evaluation of water quality data are often conducted by Martin and Wood in support of client requirements based on their agreements or permits.
Bowles Reservoir Sampling and Analyses
A subdivision known as Grant Ranch entered into a recreational water lease agreement with a reservoir company to use Bowles Reservoir in Littleton, Colorado for recreational purposes. As part of the lease agreement, Grant Ranch was required to conduct long-term water quality monitoring to ensure that construction activities and then the subdivision recreational water use did not negatively impact the water quality.
Martin and Wood, working for Grant Ranch, collects water samples at six different locations within the reservoir multiple times a year. Samples are collected from varying depths and locations in the reservoir and are then analyzed by a water quality laboratory. Martin and Wood personnel determine if water quality parameters fall within appropriate standards for the reservoir. The water quality parameters typically tested included nitrite, nitrate, orthophosphate, oil and grease, total copper, dissolved copper, total cadmium, total lead, and total zinc.
